Position Overview:
- A Cloud Engineer focused on Kafka and AWS to join the team to support the Cloud migration and resiliency efforts.
- Work on MSK/Kafka administration, platform management, performance optimization of Kafka partitioning and Kafka brokers.
- Be part of MSK/Kafka Roadmap, driving enhancements, Kafka mirroring, security updates, and standardizing best practices for Kafka.
- Automate and enhance existing operational procedures, maintenance and build outs.
- Optimize the scalability and resiliency of the Kafka environment across multiple regions, supporting both active-active and active-passive setups.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to fulfill business requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with AWS. (2 years)
- Experience with DevOps tool sets and methodologies. (2 years)
- Experience with Kafka. (3 years)
- Experience with supporting 24/7 critical systems for on-call.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools like systems Datadog, Prometheus, Splunk.
- Experience with Certificate-based authentication, x509 Certs.
- Experience with multi region active-active, active-passive setups and disaster recovery.
- Knowledge on micro service architecture and serverless system.
- Knowledge on Kubernetes, Helm, EKS.
Experience:
- Good to have:
- Experience with Kafka mirroring with MirrorMaker. (Huge plus)
- Experience with Amazon Managed Streaming for Kafka (MSK)
- Experience supporting Java applications and Node.js.
- Scripting experience with Node.js, JavaScript, Bash.
- Experience with ZooKeeper.
